Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Mangal' movie teaser released, movie to hit the theaters on Independence day

Akshay Kumar's new starrer 'Mission Mangal' teaser has been released today. The movies' release date is said to clash with John Abraham's 'Batla House' and Prabhas' 'Saaho' on Independence Day.

Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) which is also called 'Mangalyaan' is India's and ISRO's (Indian Space Research Organisation) biggest achievement in the field of space. The budget of this mission was Rs 450 crore (US$73 million), which is less than that of Hollywood's science fiction thriller film 'Gravity', which was US$100 million, the whole world was amazed by India's efforts to send its first satellite to Mars. But who was really behind it and how was the whole project developed? Answer to these questions will be coming in the form of a film titled 'Mission Mangal.'
Starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menon and Kriti Kulhari in the lead roles, the film is directed by Jagan Shakti. Akshay is playing the role of scientist, Rakesh Dhawan who was the main man behind the whole mission.

The teaser displays Akshay counting down for the launch of the satellite and the visual part yields goosebumps. Together, the teaser shows the other characters. Vidya Balan is seen as Tara Shinde who led the team of incredible scientists and almost all of them gave up their personal life for this mission.

Earlier, Akshay posted an emotional tweet on Twitter about the film, revealing why he chose to do it. He wrote, "For several years Hollywood made movies and TV Shows like Star Trek, Star Wars, Gravity etc. This inspired an entire generation of inventors, scientists and explorers. I have always wanted to be a part of one such movie Mission Mangal is that film for me A film which I’ve done specially for my daughter and children her age to familiarise them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars!"
