3-year-old Girl in Aligarh choked to death over loan of Rs 10,000

A 3-year-old girl, Twinkle Sharma in Tappal village, Aligarh district, UP, was choked to death by a man, Zahid, who had a dispute with her family over a loan amount.

The suspect, Zahid and his friend Aslam were taken into custody on Tuesday, June 4, the next day after Twinkle’s body was recovered from a dumping yard by police of Aligarh. Her body was found after three days since she went missing.

After choking her to death with a dupatta, Zahid dumped her body in a straw bag in his house. He threw the bag in a pile of trash after three days, when the body began releasing a foul smell.

When the body was discovered, it was completely decayed. Her eyes had been scooped out.

The evening before Twinkle went missing, her family had a dispute with Zahid, to whom they owed a sum of Rs 10,000. Zahid threatened the family of severe consequences.

During the investigation, Zahid admitted that he had attracted the child by offering her biscuits and then murdered her. 

As per the reports, police started the search of the murderers after Twinkle’s body was found in a garbage dump yard. The villagers demanded a new station in-charge by assembling outside Tappal police station. The police have confirmed that according to postmortem reports, there is no evidence of rape as of now.

The markets in the neighbourhood remained closed for about a couple of hours until the police managed to separate the troubled crowd.

Protesters sat on an uncertain hunger strike in front of the Aligarh-Palwal route and Punjab National Bank demanding the justice for the girl.

Banwari Lal Sharma, the father of the late, said that the family was guaranteed by the SSP of settling the case within the next two days.
